Good day Joanne,

Thanks for your inquiry.

You are correct that Governor Mapp was not supportive of the project and as a result it was put on hold.

Governor Bryan has voiced interest in seeing the Water Island Hotel / Resort development move forward.  We are in the very early stages of meeting with key members of the new administration to determine if our plans and their vision for Water Island are in sync.  Once we have a better understanding of what they would like to see happen, we will determine if it fits our vision, how we might modify and if we wish to move forward.  We will update you once we have more information.

Best regards,

Bob

Subject: WIDC status

Good afternoon all

I have been elected to another term as the Water island Civic Association.

One main item discussed at the annual meeting was the status of the hotel project.  It is my understanding that the current administration is more receptive to the project than Governor Mapp was.

As such, we are asking for the current plans, status of the Water Island project.  You know the impact will be significant and affect the residents’ lives daily.

The last bit of information was 10 May 2017 but the last executive summary is from November 2014.

We believe some communication is long overdue.

Please send as much information (and if any of the last development plans have changed) that we can share with the entire community.

If you have any comments or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me

With best regards

Joanne Bohr
